After defeating the Dark Summoner level 40, you discover the existance of the Doctor X laboratory, so let's go there and investigate.
There's a first encounter right after breaking the entrance to the lab. It can be a DARK MASKO, a HELLOGI or a SHADOWIMP, let's setup the fight for the magical type, as you probably know already, they are weak to any type of magical attacks, and they use magical attacks themselves. Dark Guards have a real advantage against them.

SHADOWIMP is specially good versus the DARK MASKO, if you want to defeat the HELLOGI use a speed guard, if you want to defeat the SHADOWIMP use a guard with light attacks.
After the first guard two more will come.
Every time you complete the quest "Exploring the ground floor", two consecutive encounters are unlocked.
QUEST: DOOR GUARD (1/2)
Both combats are against BOMBAMAN, dark guard with fire attacks. I'll use a TREE ELF, altough any guard with light attacks will work.
If you fail in the first combat, the quest resets to Exploring the ground floor.
QUEST: DOOR GUARD (2/2)
For the second guard i'll use a regular BULBHEAD.
We can proceed to the upper floor.
The first two really difficut quests in the game are here, in the Dr. X Laboratory. It's all about crabfish.
QUEST: TRANSFORMED TRIFISH
The first Crab is hard, but it doesn't take much time to defeat.
With the spirits of the Beast Plain we can have some advantage here to do the quest at an early level, and without much effort. The spirit FIRECRAB / FIRECRABI is perfect for this quest. Since we can't afford to loose clan points to purchase Protection Gems at this point, i would recommend to use FIRECRAB, although it is much easier with FIRECRABI of course.

FIRECRABI lvl 38. (I think it must be possible at even earlier levels, but i did not try)
The second crab is another story, This one is extremely hard to beat.
This are the required stats. Spirit, MAGIMAN (GREEN).
In the Dr. X Laboratory you can defeat the Dark Summoner level 50.
There is a nice reward for doing so, a Gem of Protection. Also, this quest can be repeated daily.
First of all you need to complete the quest "Disarm Trap".
That will unlock the Shades, magical spirits with a high normal attack defense. To defeat them you need a dark spirit with magical attacks.
In this case i will use the little guy Pump-Cos-Vamp (halloween spirit). You can also use a Danti for example.
As usual, high magical defense and high magical attack.
The shades are really easy to defeat with this kind of spirit.
Once you defeat the shades, the quest for the Summoner will unlock.
The duel begins!!!
Team to defeat the dark Summoner level 50:
First: You need a spirit who can easily defeat a Bombaman spirit, light attacks are good for that. So we pick up a Bulbhead or Bulbfighter.
Second: Again, we face a Shade. Easy choice, Pump-Cos-Vamp or Danti.
Third: This is the tricky one. You face an Armed Mickia, poison spirit with strong normal attacks. I recommend using a Green Masko with some defense and a high magical attack. You have only two hits to take down the Mickia, so they need to be strong. For the Masko the Skill "Air Strike" is a must, it will make things much easier.
Once the team is ready, it's time to put it to test.
Most probably you will not succeed in the first try, but it won't take long.
Now just collect the reward and go on with your adventure. :-)
After defeating the Dark Summoner, the game unlocks the secret tunnel, which leads to an encounter with the robot guards. Obviously, to defeat them you will need an electric spirit.
The first step is to find the tunnel and enter it doing the appropiate quests:
Now we need to prepare our guardian spirit to fight the robots. I will choose Green Magiman since he is the cheapest electric spirit available. This are the necessary stats:
If you are not level 42, i recommend you to lower the magical attack. It should be fine as long as the special skills are executed.
There are three robots to fight, only two of them with the green magiman.
After defeating this two, you will unlock a third robot fight, but this one is prepared so you can not use the magiman. The third robot has a light attack that will kill the magiman in one hit.
This is the quest: Guardian of Knowledge.
As you can see the reward is quite great, that's why there's a lot of people around level 40 using robots as guardians. They give you the screws to build them in this quests.
To defeat this guy you need a Goldha, and to obtain a Goldha you need to complete the Champion challenge Expert Mode 30 times, it will take a while. Another option is Thor, but it is much easier to get a Goldha.

If you are looking for a build with higher chances of winning T-01K, use this, it works really fine:
Spirit: Transformed WITCH
If you are lower than lvl 45, you can lower both MATK and MDEF a bit and still win although with a lower chance of doing so.
Rewards: Gem of Protection & Screw (use 12 to create T-01).
After the fight the quests to be clan master are unlocked:
This allows a pocket summoner to create his own clan. :-)
