The dragon lair is all about dragons. It's quite hard and tricky to defeat them in the early levels.
I will list all the spirits i used.
The first quest of the area is:
QUEST: BROODLINGS ATTACK (8 REMAINING)
To complete this quest all you need to do is defeat random dragon broodlings 8 times. Every time you defeat a broodling, you will get a random dragon heart.
8 dragon hearts of the same type can be used to purchase that type's broodling at the store. So yes, you can use them as guards. :-)
I think an easy way to do this quest is using an Aircarri. He is capable of defeating IFERASZ and TRARUZA (fire & ground broodlings) using the same stats. Just skip the encounters with the wind and water broodlings.
After this 8 fights, more broodlings will come.
There is a special quest for each of the broodling types. So we will need to setup a specific guard for each broodling.
ZONE OF FIRE
I could use the AIRCARRI again, but let's take something different, we have a lot of water guards, specially since the Christmas release (SNOWY, SNOWBOY, GOO, SQUIDI, CRUISPLEURO, TRIFISH BLUE... just take any of them and you should have no problems to defeat the fire broodling, if you set the stats correctly).
Note: If you have AIRCARRI from the previous quest, just lower his MDEF and add it to MATK to do this quest.
To defeat the water broodling we have two options, either ground attacks or electric attacks. Since the MAGIMAN GREEN has electric attacks and a great resistance to magical attacks of the opponent, he's a great choice.
The wind broodling is weak to dark attacks, so again, we can use a MAGIMAN (ANY TYPE) to take him down. The Magimans, unless transformed to FIREWIZARD or DARKWIZAD, do not have a dark base attack, so if you use them you need to fight until the special dark attack is executed during the combat (Do not forget to learn the skill BLACKHOLE).
If you have access to a better dark guard with a dark base attack, you should use it. For example: SHADOWIMP or DANTI.
ZONE OF GROUND
To take down the ground broodling we have quite a lot of low level options: FIREBO, INFORNOGI, MAGIMAN RED, FOORSE ORANGE... i'm going to pick the FOORSE ORANGE, this guard has good base stats.
At level 29 you will need the FOORSE to execute a special attack to be able to win the fight, so make sure you learn ZIG ZAG and CHAIN FIRE before starting.
So, we are done with all the broodling types. Now you know how to defeat them and which guards are better for fighting each one of them.
Sometimes people get stuck at the quest where you need to defeat two consecutive broodlings. In my expirience, the best shot you have is to setup a guard to defeat the fire brood and keep doing the quest until you encounter two consecutive IFERASZ (the probability for them to appear seems higher than the others, although i'm sure it's just random).
For that purpose we can use any water guard.
To do it at a really low level, the easiest way is setting up a dark guard to defeat the wind brood. I'll use a SHADOWIMP.
First we need to complete the quest "Explore the deep section". If we fail to defeat the two broods consecutively, the quest resets and it is necessary to do this again.
After that we unlock the broodlings.

To increase the chances of doing the quest, setup the guard to be able to defeat the broods with the base attack.

QUEST: CHALLENGE THE DRAGON QUEEN
The Dragon Queen is one of the hardest monters to defeat in the game. You will need a Chicki (Yellow) to defeat her. This are the stats i used:
The speed Chicki will throw quite a lot of attacks each round, but the attacks are weak and the queen has high HP. So keep trying and you'll eventually win.
QUEST: DRAGON OF FIRE
For the Fire Dragon i used a water spirit, in this case Hoorsa with boosted speed.
The bad thing about this fire dragon is he also has normal attacks, so you need to be prepared for both types, boosting only one defense parameter does not work.
(+10 DEF will make things a lot easier)
QUEST: DRAGON OF WATER
For the Water Dragon i needed a ground attack, and the halloween spirit Pump-Cos-Vamp was the only decent thing i had at hand. So i used him, and he really worked, in fact i found he is extremely useful against a lot of hard encounters.
The Water dragon uses electric attacks, so it's tricky to find a decent match for him.
(+10 MATK will make things a lot easier)
QUEST: DRAGON OF AIR
The Air Dragon is weak to dark attacks, so it's easy with a dark spirit with a high magic defense.
Again, we have our special little friend from halloween.
QUEST: DRAGON OF GROUND
For the Ground Dragon the best option is a fire spirit, since ground is weak to fire. I used Red Crabfish, but you need to learn the skill "inferno" with him to be able to defeat the dragon, else your attacks won't be strong enough. This setup has a decent probability to win, but it usually requires several trys (you need the dragon to just throw two attacks and the inferno skill to be executed).
After defeating all the different dragons you get the Dragon Master reward, which is quite awsome, it allows you to transform broodlings into dragons.
As stated before, to obtain the broodlings you need to collect 8 dragon hearts of the same type, either in the zone of elements quests or fighting the dragons. Since the drop rate is very low beating the broodlings, it is easier to get the hearts from the dragons themselves.
